In 1991 a group of Guatemalan professionals, permanently residing in the United States, formed a tax-except charitable association, approvd by the IRS, and incorporated in the state of Ohio. It is dedicated to improving the health and education of their less fortunate countrymen. Through their continuous efforts, many successes have been achieved.

Friends of Guatemala, Inc. is governed by a board of Trustees. This group of volunteers assures that 100% of donations are directed to Guatemala, and they will reach the people in need.

To unify friends of Guatemala in an effort to help ease some of the multiple needs in health care and education in this country.

To work with hospitals, corporations, and/or individuals that may donate surplus equipment, medications, and educational material to be shipped to Guatemala.

To assist with the critical need for housing facilities, for patients and their families, providing them with clean and safe shelter as they wait for diagnosis and treatment at various hospitals.

To provide scholarship funds to educate needy children and improve public health.
